This Collection is inspired by the Dead
Sea Scrolls, the ancient, authentic and amazing manuscripts
found hidden in caves near the Dead Sea.
The original documents are thousands of years
old, yet they were discovered only 50 years
ago. The artifacts are written in Hebrew, Greek or
Aramaic on leather or papyrus. (One is even on copper.)
For this jewelry collection, Bonaimo has taken quotes from a
book of English translations. She found these particular words
to be poetic or touching. Each design has
individually hand stamped letters on silver, copper and brass.
These pieces can be also be customized with your favorite
quote.

The Dead Sea Scrolls, dating from
250 BCE-68 CE, are indisputably one of the greatest
archeological finds of all time. Discovered beginning in 1947
in 11 caves along the shores of the Dead Sea in Israel, these
ancient manuscripts bring to life a vanished
world.
The Scrolls are on exhibit
at The San Diego Natural History Museum, located in beautiful
Balboa Park at the intersection of Village Place and Park
Blvd. (Directly across from Spanish Village Art Center where
Denise Bonaimo creates this collection of
