What a grand affair!  San Diego Visual Arts Network in collaboration with Regional Exhibition Venues throughout SD County announce a promotion starting in June 2009 and On Wednesday July 8, 2009 (7-9pm) over 400 people gathered for the Little and Large Launch Party atop the Se Hotel on the 4th Floor Rooftop Pool and Bar (1047 5th Ave. at Broadway, Downtown San Diego, Ca 92101) We got a preview of some of the work on exhibit throughout the county- Sculptors creating Jewelry and Jewelers creating Sculpture inspired by the Alexander Calder Jewelry Exhibition at San Diego Museum of Art (beginning July 18, 2009 until January 3, 2010)

La Jolla Cow Parade

"Vibrant Village Cow" by Don D. Knapp and Denise Bonaimo

CowParade, the world's largest public art event, is made it's California debut with CowParade La Jolla through June 15, 2009. The work of regional artists is being celebrated on 40 life-sized fiberglass cows. "Vibrant Village Cow" has been sold to Mitchell and Alyce Lynn of Mission Hills, Ca.

Franken-Jewelry Swap and Create Party!

"One man's trash is another man's treasure". Got trinkets, charms, baubles and other random beads and components? Have a broken necklace?

An orphaned earring? Bring 'em! Trade with your new jewelry making friends. Denise will teach you to breathe life your various new found "parts".  (If you don't have anything to swap, just bring some small change.)

Learn basic wire wrapping and bead stringing techniques. No experience neccessary!

All materials included, including boxes of beautiful beads to choose from, bead design boards, clasps and jewelry pliers. All skill levels welcome.

Refreshments served!

Minimum booking: 2 hour class. Additional hour or portions of an hour add $15 per student. Additional travel fee for locations outside of San Diego county. (Varies by location.)
