	S p a n i s h   V i l l a g e   A r t   C e n t e r   For Kids... Jewelry Design and Creation (2 hours) Learn to make colorful patterned beads with polymer clay. We will bake our beads in the oven to harden them. Then, using the design bead board, we will create a beautiful necklace using our handmade beads and accents of glass, ceramic and colorful plastic beads. Bead Stringing Learn how to design, string and finish a beaded necklace.  We will talk about design elements such as color, balance and scale as well as finishing techniques (based upon skill level). Basic Polymer Clay Bead Design Learn to work with the colorful polymer based clay that bakes in the toaster oven. We will learn to marbleize and assemble flower pattern canes to create a set of beads. Also available for interviews for the Career Badge. Open up a new world of possibilities in jewelry design. Bend, wrap and forge wire just like the professionals. Use jeweler's pliers and hammers to form wire links, squiggles, spirals, clasps and bead wire wraps. Explore the subtleties of various wire gauges, materials and shapes.  Learn to wrap "top drilled" as well as "center hole drilled" beads and pendants. Bring your own beads, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers and wire cutters. Bring your own special beads, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers and wire cutters and 20g sterling silver wire if you desire. An orphaned earring? Bring 'em! Trade with your new jewelry making friends. Denise will teach you to breathe life your various new found "parts". 	Intermediate Wire Working at Fallbrook School of the Arts Intermediate Wire Working Part 1 For a step beyond “Wires and Hammers and Pliers… Oh My!” join Denise for this jewelry workshop. Learn to make handmade clasps and findings, fancy wire wrapped beads, wire formed beads, wrapping cabochon stones, more wire wrapped rings and few more surprises. Bring any beads you may have, jeweler’s chain nose pliers, round nose pliers and cutters, 3 feet of sterling silver SQUARE wire (18 gauge) and 6 feet of sterling silver ROUND wire (20 gauge) $5 material fee covers use of tools and additional copper wire supplies. 15- Nov SA Intermediate Wire Working Pt 1 10am-1pm   Intermediate Wire Working Part 2 In this workshop we will learn to make beautiful wire formed pods and cages for, well, just about anything! Bring objects to cage (shells, stones, beads…), a wide link necklace chain, jeweler’s chain nose pliers, round nose pliers and cutters, 3 feet of sterling silver SQUARE wire (18 gauge) and 6 feet of sterling silver ROUND wire (20 gauge) $5 material fee covers use of tools and additional copper wire supplies. 15- Nov SA Intermediate Wire Working Pt  2 2pm- 5pm
	ABC's of Tool Stamped Jewelry Poems, lyrics, prose, affirmations, names: what do you want to say? Using steel letter tool stamps we will hammer letters and numbers onto precut copper “blanks” (shapes of sheet metal), oxidize, file and polish. These stamped shapes can be used for various jewelry components (ie: earrings or pendants or bracelet charms). If time permits we will also create a stamped spiral pendant with heavy gauge square wire. Studio Fourteen Class Descriptions: Beadmaster Strategies You will learn two methods of stringing with different materials and the benefits of both. Play with soft flex stringing wire and crimps and experiment with silk/nylon string and knot covers. 1 hour Fee: $38  Bring your own beads.                                   Wire Wrapping Beads with Ease We will implement a variety of wire wrapping techniques to make three pairs of earrings and two pendants. Learn to wrap "top drilled" as well as "center hole drilled" beads and pendants.  1 hour Fee: $38  Bring your own beads, round nose pliers and wire cutters.   ABC's of Tool Stamped Jewelry Poems, lyrics, prose, affirmations, names: what do you want to say? Using steel letter tool stamps we will hammer letters and numbers onto precut copper “blanks” (shapes of sheet metal), oxidize, file and polish. These stamped shapes can be used for various jewelry components (ie: earrings or pendants or bracelet charms). If time permits we will also create a stamped spiral pendant with heavy gauge square wire. Experiment with varied wire sizes to twist and bend your way to a wire link, bead and spiral dangle necklace. Bring your own beads, round nose pliers and wire cutters. 1 hour Fee: $38      Cold Connections Using cutting shears and drill bits, we will fabricate sheet metal shapes, which we will layer and join with non-solder techniques such as lashing, stapling, riveting and utilizing tiny screws and nuts. 1 hour Fee: $38  Plus $5 material fee.  Frankenstein's Jewelry Lab  "One mans junk is another mans treasure"…Bring your broken chains, that orphaned earring, random baubles, beads, charms and other oddball components. Trade with other classmates for things you never thought you needed to have! We will "Frankenstein" your new found treasures into pimped out new designs. 1 hour Fee: $25      Handmade Clasps & Findings  Free yourself from expensive pre-made clasps and give your handmade jewelry the professional touch of handmade findings. Learn to bend and forge wire into several versions of the hammered hook clasp and French wire earring findings.      1 hour Fee: $38  Plus $5 material fee                         Knotting Like A Pro Although it is a little tricky at first, with a little practice of the methods you will learn in this class you will be able to create a knotted beaded necklace that moves with fluidity. We will create one necklace of pearls (or any gemstone beads you choose), knotting in between each and finishing with cup knot covers and attaching a clasp. 1 hour Fee: $38 Bring a strand of beads, knotting tweezers and pre- needled silk or nylon thread appropriate for bead hole.                              "Walk Like an Egyptian" Spiral Bracelet   Recreate an ancient design with a contemporary twist.  You learn to form and link Egyptian Spirals (sometimes called Etruscan Coil) interspersed with wire wrapped beads. Attach your handmade clasp for a timeless design. 1 hour Fee: $38  Plus $5 material fee .      Wire Wrapped Pendants Without Holes Learn to wrap any object without a hole. Bring stones of your choice, found objects, glass or shells.  Explore a variety of techniques to suit just about any wire wrapping situation. 1 hour Fee: $38 Plus $5 material fee. Wire Wrapped Bead Rings Using the jeweler’s ring mandrel, learn to wrap beads (or any object with a hole) into fantastic rings. Learn tips and tricks including what gauge wire to use and how to decide how to orient the beads for ease of wrapping. Copper wire available for $5. Bring 20g round silver wire if you prefer. 1 hour Fee: $38  Plus $5 material fee. Bring some beads. Simple Chain Mail Bracelet Using a multitude of metal  jump rings, we will explore the ancient technique of chain mail to create a beautiful bracelet suitable for men and women. 1 hour Fee: $38  Plus material fee.   Youth Jewelry Classes   Bead Stringing   Ages 6-12 will learn how to design, string and finish a beaded necklace. All materials and tools included. 1 hour Fee: $25       Basic Polymer Clay Bead Design Learn to work with the colorful polymer based clay that bakes in the toaster oven. She teaches regularly at Fairwinds Ivey Ranch in Oceanside, Casa de las Campanas in Rancho Bernardo and Belmont Village in Poway to the senior citizen residents of those communities.
