Welcome to the June newsletter. There's a few group classes on the schedule this month.
Read on to see opportunities for you to join in
some jewelry making fun. Also, for those of you with kids, I've got two weeks of summer camps planned with the focus on jewelry. And, of course, you can schedule any of my classes as a private, duet or private group class.
Ever wondered how to properly use crimps with your beading wire projects? This month's Lesson of the Month is Stringing on Beading Wire.

This month's featured local San Diego bead store is Beads of La Jolla, located in the quaint part of town called Bird Rock. This shop opened ten years ago at this location, but since I don't go to Bird Rock too often, I've just recently discovered it. What impresses me most about this lovely place is how clean, uncluttered and organized it is. I had a chance to speak with owner Angela Isetti on my last visit to the shop.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear that almost everything they sell is available on the strand or by the piece, which is nice, because sometimes you only want a couple of focal beads and not an entire strand.
Another cool thing they offer is a well-lit, spacious work table. You can purchase your beads and supplies and sit there in the shop and create your designs. And, of course, the knowledgeable staff is there to guide you.
I asked Angela what products she is most excited about these days. She pointed out the 'stuffed shells' (pictured above), which are cross sections of actual shells embedded with natural gemstones like turquoise and malachite. She also says these abalone shells (pictured below) are quite exciting with their oil- slick surface color. Both are perfect for your beachy summer jewelry designs.
Angela is thankful for all her loyal customers,
and would like to introduce new ones to the shop by giving 15% off your purchase if you print out or mention Denise's
newsletter.
