Featured Bead Store of the Month

The Black Bead- Ocean Beach

| This month's featured local San Diego bead store is The Black Bead, located in the heart of Ocean Beach on Newport Avenue. This year owner,
Lynn Muhlenkord, celebrates 17 years. This place has everything you could possibly need for beading. |
 |
On a recent trip to The Black Bead, I had the chance to spend some time browsing the multitudes of trays in the cases. What a selection! There is so much inventory, it is easy to miss some of the wonderful treasures they have. I really love these Ethnic beads from Africa. (Left).
From tools, to cords and string, to clasps and books, you could spend an hour trying to absorb everything. The staff is super helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. You can purchase supplies and assemble them right there in the store. Plus, they have an adorable tiny dog named Gracie. (Below) |
